Zoho Notebook

Today, I visited Zoho Notebook and created an account. I looked around to figure out what it what about. Basically, Zoho notebook is a super version of the Google Docs Application. You can make presentations, documents, and powerpoints just like Google Docs, but with Zoho there are even more options. For example, you can move anything anywhere in Zoho notebook. Also, you can add a video to the page and be able to run many things on the document. Plus, if someone is viewing your Zoho notebook, they can see any updates you make almost immediately. So, in essence, Zoho notebook is a quick and easy way to share documents with a friend, employee, boss, associate, and anyone else who is interested. There are many things to do with Zoho Notebook, and I plan on discovering them as I move along with it.

Zoho Notebook would also be useful in the classroom if we could carry around laptops to our class. The students could simply go to the teacher’s Zoho and look at the assignment, complete it, and the teacher needs only to look at the student’s notebook. This gets rid of using paper, making Zoho Notebook eco-friendly. On another plus side, it wouldn’t be boring like most of the work in school. Instead, students could use online resources to complete their task, making it easy, quick, and simple. That is how I would plan to use Zoho Notebook if we were allowed to use it in class. I can only hope that the teachers and faculty might consider this as an option, as it is only a plus to everyone who is involved in it.

Flikr

Today, I visited the Flikr website to check out what it is about. I took the tour and learned much more than I thought I would. Flikr is a picture website in which you can share pictures with friends and family across the world or across the street. It is an easy way to keep memories alive, since the Internet will keep them safe for you, rather than stuffing pictures into a large book and heaving it onto a bookshelf where it would stand untouched for years. Flikr is helpful in preserving those pictures that it keeps, for it cannot be destroyed by natural hazzards like fire, water, earthquakes, tornadoes, or hurricanes. Pictures will always be safe within the contents of a webpage.

Along with being able to share photos, you can also do it without Flikr. However, those pictures can become corrupt, unlike on Flikr where they will be safe. Along with being able to share your pictures with the world, you can also only share it with yourself and other close friends. I myself don’t hold any pictures that I would post onto Flikr, private or otherwise, but I would encourage others to use Flikr as a simple and safe means to share interesting and exotic photos.

My google.doc

Google documents is a quick way to share documents with other people without many problems with copies. I find it very helpful since I don’t have to go through the work of sending it to everyone. As it is, everyone can just see it as one item. Less hassle for me, and less hassle for anyone else. Plus, it is an efficient way to keep organized since it is all kept in one file area rather than a whole scale of computers. Thus, this allows anyone to look through ALL the files of a subject rather than having to be sent the powerpoint, and the excel, and the word all at once using precious time.

Also, another great advantage is that google documents can skip over Microsoft, allowing for a free doccument without paying for it. Great, right? But it gets better! Along with having a free document, you can share it with everyone without using ink and paper, saving even more money! And all of this comes with a simple little program in Google, not to mention the fact that you also get other progams like e-mail, Google reader, and whatnot. So to put it simply, Google Docs is also eco-friendly since it saves us from using paper. That just makes the deal even sweeter, making for a very popular idea to use this rather than the old ways of sending them to people!

Honestly, I’ve never had a bookmark site before, I’ve always used the favorites menu, since it is fast and easy to use. Still, the favorites menu does not extend beyond my computer, therefore going to another computer won’t bring all my favorites with me, so I suppose Delicious can be very useful to keep my favorite sites up while at the same time allowing me to share with others my favorites. There might be a chance others have been looking for a similar site, and they looked on my bookmarks and found something that interested them, allowing them to benefit from my bookmarks which they could not do from a favorites menu. Plus, you can’t organize a favorites menu, while with bookmarks one can organize it so completely i need only click one button to find what I need.

In conclusion, I believe that Delicious is much more effective than the favorites menu, and I encourage others to begin bookmarking as well. All you need is a Yahoo acount and a bit of patience, and you have a newly organized favorites menu accessable to all. Without delicous, many a people would be extremely bored these days, so thank the publishers of delicious that they took the time to create the site that would soon be one of the most popular bookmarking sites on the web.

High School Experience

It’s been great so far. Way more laid back than middle school. Teachers are more laid back, no problem in having a good time. It’s pretty easy to have fun in High School. Classes aren’t as tough, and it’s really your choice whether to take notes or not. So, you tell me. Middle school or high school? I’m pretty sure high school wins because there’s more fun, not being baby sat by teachers who just want to go home anymore. It’s the real thing, high school. No more boredom, just freedom to do whatever, when ever, long as your still in class.

All in all, i think high school has been great so far, probably still will be when freshman year ends. Hoping sophomore year will be greater. Tell me how my blog is, seeing as this is my first one, and thanks for reading it.
